Kevin's Thoughts

The privilege of being a wealth management advisor is more than conversations around investment style, risk tolerance, portfolio construction, and current financial trends; it's about having conversations with people. It’s about family and dreams and legacy. It’s about understanding and hearing. It’s about listening. That’s because listening to my clients explain their wants, as well as their needs, is absolutely essential in understanding how I can best help them achieve their definition of financial peace of mind.

People are unique and people matter. They want different things out of their lives, so when I hear my clients talking about travel, or hobbies in retirement, or building a second home, or plans for a business, or arranging for a grandchild’s college education, it’s my job to first listen, and then create and monitor a custom plan which not only helps allow them these opportunities, but also, a plan which takes into account their current lifestyle needs. Yet, even more so, it’s also my job to advise clients about the kinds of things they don’t want to think about: illness, premature death, disability. I help make sure your plan meets you and your loved ones needs for all that life hands you.

Kevin's Professional Background

Kevin Earnest joined Northwestern Mutual in 2006 after graduating from Northwestern University with a Bachelors in both Economics and Communications. Kevin started his career with Northwestern Mutual through the 1award winning internship program finishing in the Top 5 Intern Conversions Nationally (Mike Gish Award). He continued to fast track his practice by being named Rookie of the Year for the McTigue Financial Group(2007) and leading Northwestern Mutual's Central Region. As his practice has evolved Kevin focuses on working with his clients to offer clear guidance on how to help them manage the risks of longevity, premature death and disability, and through careful attention, work to develop Wealth Management strategies to complement their planning.

Kevin chooses to partner with Northwestern Mutual because of the alignment of core values. More than a century ago, Northwestern Mutual's leaders had a simple but powerful vision:

"To build a company that aspired less to be large than to be safe, ranked first in benefits to policyowners rather than first in size and valued quality above quantity."

These beliefs, captured in an 1888 executive committee statement, are still true today. In fact, they helped shape many of the values that continue to impact our client interactions. Above all, Kevin believes in doing what’s right for his clients. With every important decision, this poignant question is asked: “Is this in the best long-term interest of clients?” It’s the primary reason he follows a distinctive planning process knowing having the solutions to meet all of clients’ financial needs is the right thing to do.
